Afrobeats sensation, Joeboy, has officially inked a dual deal with global music powerhouse, Warner Music, in a move that marks a significant milestone in his five-year career. The renowned label, home to superstars like Ed Sheeran, Cardi B, Burna Boy, and CKay, has welcomed Joeboy as their latest flagship artiste out of the continent.
The dual deal not only signals a new chapter for Joeboy but also sees the launch of his very own entertainment outfit, Young Legend. The decision to explore fresh horizons comes on the heels of Joeboy’s widespread acclaim under emPawa Africa, where he released two extended plays; 2019’s Love & Light and 2023’s Body, Soul, & Spirit, and two studio albums: 2021’s Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic, and 2023’s Body & Soul. His discography also includes a slew of hit singles and features that have amassed over 2 billion streams across major digital platforms.
Under the newly established Young Legend label, Joeboy will take on the role of CEO, while Deola Jaiyesimi will serve as the Head of the label, entrusted with the task of cultivating the next generation of Afrobeats superstars on a global stage. Jaiyemsimi, a music industry expert, has held notable positions including Artiste Relations Manager for Boomplay and Senior Label Manager, West Africa for The Orchard.
Joeboy’s move follows in the footsteps of industry titans like Olamide, Don Jazzy, and his mentor, Mr Eazi, who have successfully used their social influence and business acumen to uplift emerging talent while propelling their careers to global heights.
