Ivorian American singer and songwriter, Chrystel, is again making waves with her scintillating new Afro-Pop single, “Snapchat” featuring Nigerian rap sensation, Blaqbonez. “Snapchat” serves as a tease to the Grammy-nominated singer’s highly-anticipated sophomore EP scheduled for launch in February next year.
The song is an ode to carefree flirtation, independence, and self-assurance, characterised by bass guitar grooves, specially crafted for late-night party playlists.
When asked about the inspiration behind the song, Chrystel says, “It’s about feeling sexy and having fun. I want people to feel like they know their powers when they hear it. I’ve always had an inspiring sense of self-assurance, and confidence, and I feel inspired seeing other people walk their own convictions. To me, this song is like a form of self-care – knowing what you like, and liking yourself, without needing validation from others is key. Loving yourself for who you are, and who you’re becoming is so important to me.”
