The One for Sarah will begin streaming on the popular streaming platform, Netflix, on the 11th of August, 2023.

After its debut in cinemas in Nigeria, the romantic drama film, The One for Sarah will begin streaming on the popular streaming platform, Netflix, on the 11th of August, 2023. The One for Sarah was initially released in cinemas on the 28th of October, 2022. The film, produced by Nigerian filmmaker, Uche Louis Okocha, stars several Nollywood stars, such as Beverly Naya, Uzor Arukwe, Daniel Etim-Effiong, Bimbo Ademoye, Bucci Franklin, Adunni Ade, and Bolaji Ogunmola. 

Directed by Nigeria director, Lyndsey Efejuku, The One for Sarah, follows the life of Sarah (played by Beverly Naya), a young woman who leaves an abusive relationship. She later finds herself in a love triangle, with the abusive ex-lover lurking around. The film explores themes of self-discovery and domestic violence, and advocates for victims of abuse in Nigeria.

In an exclusive interview with Shock NG, the film’s producer, Okocha, said, “The One for Sarah is a combination of drama and romance. (There are) not too many doses of comedy, but the characters played it out, especially Sarah, played by Beverly Naya. It has wonderful actors in it. Expect a wonderful experience while watching!” 

The One for Sarah is produced under the direction of Trino Motions Pictures. It is the production company’s fourth feature film release. The film follows the success of The Razz Guy, Three Thieves, and Sylvia
