Nnamdi Odunze’s “Double Dekoi” to Debut in Cinemas in December

Double Dekoi, a film by Nigerian filmmaker, Nnamdi Odunze, is set to hit cinemas nationwide on  December 1, 2023.

The star-studded movie, produced in collaboration with StarCity Studio, is a cross-continental project filmed in Nigeria and in the US.

Double Dekoi features a mix of Nollywood veteran actors and international talents, including Sola Sobowale as “Madam Seggy”, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Hilda Dokunbo, American actor, Rodney Perry, former NBA star, Terry Cummings, American singer, Septimius the Great, and a host of others.

Amanda, played by Abimbola Esther popularly known as “Modella“, takes matters into her own hands as she is convinced of her brother Steve’s innocence in a murder case. She soon discovers that their father was killed by the criminal organisation, StarCity Properties Ltd, a drug and human trafficking cartel posing as an estate development firm to cover its illegal activities.

Enlisting the help of her cousin, Jaspa, alongside Flecky, Amanda infiltrates the organisation to uncover evidence hidden by her late father while facing the bloodthirsty gang leader, Madam Seggy (Sola Sobowale).

The film is written and directed by Odunze and Edna Chichi Njoku Frenchwood, with Ibrahim Thompson serving as co-director for the US production.

Double Dekoi, distributed by Blue Pictures Film, has garnered attention on the homefront and internationally, having secured a spot in the official selections for the 2023 Abuja International Film Festival and the Afro International Film Festival scheduled to be held from 12th to 14th October, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Double Dekoi will debut in cinemas across Nigeria from the 1st of December, while its premium video-on-demand release is also expected to follow.
