Mavin Records’ latest signee, Lifesize Teddy, has released her debut EP, Lifesize Teddy. Born Banigo Apiafi Treasure, the rapper, singer, and writer, is eclectic, talented, and unpredictable. Teddy describes Lifesize Teddy as “her story and her journey.”
Heavily influenced by a mom who is an ardent lover of literature, Lifesize Teddy was introduced to music through cassette tapes, with sounds from the likes of Brenda Farsi, Shania Twain, Asa, the Highlife music of Rex Lawson, and many others. Everyday life appeals to her – but so does spirituality and the beauty and potential in the unexpected. She started out as a poet, discovering the power of her pen to document her feelings. The rapper and Afro-fusion artiste is also described as a prophecy come to fruition.
After going through the MAVIN Academy, Lifesize Teddy is here with “Air,” “Hypnotic,” “Prophecy,” “John Wick,” and “Butterflies,” an experimental blend of five songs that testify to her range, artistic intelligence, and sonic talent.
Lifesize Teddy is a blend of the new age, a relatable rapper with the finesse of those who have come before her. She is not scared to put her feelings in her pen. With her debut EP, she becomes a budding star to be on the lookout for, as one to put her print on the global music industry.
