Multichoice Nigeria, the organisers of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), have revealed the highly anticipated list of nominations for its landmark tenth edition. Scheduled to unfold on May 11th, 2024, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, the ceremony promises to be a celebration of remarkable accomplishments in the realms of film and television.

Among the standout movies with significant nominations is Femi Adebayo’s production, Jagun Jagun, which garnered nods in multiple categories, including Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa), Best Lead Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best Cinematography, among others.

Equally impressive is CJ “Fiery” Obasi’s directorial masterpiece, Mami Wata, which secured nominations in several key categories such as Best Director, Best Movie, Best Lead Actress, Best Sound Design, Best Costume Design, Best Art Direction, and others.

Over the Bridge by Tolu Ajayi recieved 12 nominations across multiple categories including Best Director, Best Movie, Best Lead Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best CInematography, Best Costume Design, and Best Editing, among others.

Not to be overshadowed, Funke Akindele’s blockbuster hit, A Tribe Called Judah, made its mark with nominations in prestigious categories like Best Movie, Best Lead Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Writing (Movie), and Best Makeup.

The Best Lead Actor category boasts an impressive lineup of talent, featuring heavyweights including Wale Ojo (Breath of Life), Stan Nze (Afamefuna), Marc Zinga (Omen), Gideon Okeke (Egun), Richard Mofe Damijo (The Black Book), David Ezekiel (Blood Vessel), and Adedimeji Lateef (Jagun Jagun).
