Biodun Stephen is set to write and direct the new Inkblot Production’s new romantic drama, Big Love, which will begin filming in the coming weeks.
“We are doing it again…together,” hinted Biodun, as she teased her fans and followers with a photo of her and Nollywood stars, Timini Egbuson and Bimbo Ademoye, on Instagram, referencing their previous work together on the 2021 blockbuster comedy, Breaded Life.
In a statement earlier this year, Zulumoke Oyibo, co-founder of Inkblot Productions, praised Biodun’s ingenuity in the film industry and expressed excitement to have her on board for the upcoming movie. “Biodun Stephen is one of Nigeria’s most celebrated directors with a distinct voice that constantly finds her audience. We are excited to bring her on board for our upcoming movie,” Oyibo said.
Big Love is set in the bustling city of Lagos, and tells the love story of Adil, a passionate young man chasing his dreams, and Adina, a focused independent woman making ends meet at a graduate training camp. Their budding love is threatened by Adina’s fears and secrets.
While the full cast list is yet to be revealed, Biodun has hinted at an all-star lineup, including the legendary Shaffy Bello, Kalu Ikeagwu, and Jaiye Kuti, who are set to star alongside Egbuson and Ademoye. Biodun will also produce the film, with Keme Bedford working as co-producer.
Big Love is one of Inkblot’s four films scheduled for theatrical release in 2023, and is set to premiere in July.
