Exceptional Beings wins Best World Feature Film

The film is currently available on Amazon, iTunes, Vudu, Xbox, and other movie streaming platforms in most countries.

Exceptional Beings, a feature-length film by Nigerian-American filmmaker, Njedeh Anthony, has won the Best World Feature Film at the World Indie Film Awards. It also received awards for best sound, presented to Sam Mutch, and best actress, for American actress, Ciarra Carter‘s performance.

Exceptional Beings is a fantasy drama written and co-directed by Anthony and Christian Kazadi, with Justin Ifeanyi Morgan serving as the film’s producer. The story follows two supernatural beings who begin to question their divinity after encountering an exceptional woman who challenges their understanding of humanity. This prompts them to explore new perspectives about their existence.

“We are so blown away and humbled by this […] I and @justinmorganjr (Morgan) would like to sincerely thank everyone who played a part in getting this feature to where it is today,” shared Anthony via a post on Instagram. “This is acknowledgement for the time, sacrifice and sweat you put in,” he added.

It stars Carter as Athena and Dane Oliver as Hermes. Other cast members include Rachel Thundat, Agunbiade Esther, Sarah Bonrepaux, Alexis Barbosa, Clark Moore, and Bunmi Famuyiwa amongst others.

Since its release in January 2023, Exceptional Beings has had an impressive festival run, earning awards such as Best Actress Award at the Multi Dimension Independent Film Festival, Best Feature Drama and Best Producer awards at the Cult Movies International Film Festival, and Best Producer at Swedish International Film Festival. It also made the official selection list at the Brazilian Independent Film Festival and the Lonely Wolf International Film Festival.

The film’s creators, Njedeh Anthony and Justin Ifeanyi Morgan, are Nigerian-born US-based filmmakers. Anthony, best known for his film, Creatures of Necessity, wears multiple hats as an author, filmmaker, and music composer. Exceptional Beings serves as a prequel to his 11th novel, Godhood.

Morgan is a New York-based producer and founder of FJ Morgan, a creative agency that specialises in Film and TV content production, and digital media.
