The organisers of the Africa Events Awards have announced the nominees for the 2023 edition. The nominations list, which reflects the diversity of talent within the industry, spans 22 categories and features a stellar lineup of event organisers and entertainment stars.
Renowned African entertainment stars, Davido, Burna Boy, Diamond Platinumz, Tiwa Savage, Black Sherrif, Asake, Stonebwoy, Toofan, and Focalistic, have all been nominated as Event Entertainer of the Year.
Other notable nominees include South African comedian, Trevor Noah, and Nigerian socialite, Obi Cubana featured in the Event Influencer of the Year category; and Nigerian celebrity photographer, George Okoro, who is nominated alongside Anta Ntina Munoki (DR Congo) and six others as Event Photographer/Videographer of the year.

Nominees for the Event of the Year category include Afro Chella, All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), Emy Africa Awards, Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), Flytime Fest, and Mawazine Rabat Festival.
Kelvin Kenneth, the CEO of the Africa Event Awards, emphasised the significance of this year’s nominations, stating, “This year’s selection highlights the remarkable talent and unwavering effort of event planners, coordinators, and organisers hailing from across the continent. Despite the hurdles faced by the industry, their commitment to excellence shines brightly.”

Formerly known as the Ghana Event Awards, the Africa Events Awards was established in 2016 to recognise the exceptional efforts made by African event managers and organisers in curating impactful and memorable event experiences across the continent.
This year’s event, scheduled to hold at the South Africa High Commissioner’s Residence on September 22, 2023, will bring together emerging and established entertainers, industry players, and influencers who have contributed immensely to the growth of Africa’s event industry. Winners for each category will be announced at the gala night.
