Ghanaian R&B sensation, Darkua, has released her latest single, “Say My Name”. Following the momentum of her 2023 record, “Echo”, Darkua cements her status as one of the stars to watch out for in the R&B scene in Ghana, delivering a track that pays homage to the golden era of 2000’s R&B with her signature twist.
Produced by the talented trio of Gv Made It, High Jam, and Albert Keyz, “Say My Name” is a compelling anthem that explores the theme of liberation from a deceitful lover. Darkua’s emotive vocals and poignant lyrics capture the essence of moving on while harbouring both wishes for the best and a touch of spiteful longing.
Speaking about the new song, Darkua says, “I have a great interest in R&B music. My debut single ‘Amalelor’ has an R&B touch, making it more of an Afro-R&B record. However, with ‘Say My Name’, I had the chance to fully explore the R&B genre. Listening to artistes like Jorja Smith has put things into perspective for me. R&B is a growing genre in Ghana, and it has received the spotlight it deserves. I am willing to lead the charge in Ghana and make my mark in the R&B scene.”
