All Colours of the World are Between Black and White is scheduled to begin its theatrical run in cinemas across France in May 2024, the director, Babatunde Apalowo, tells Afrocritik.
The critically acclaimed title, which tells the story of two gay Nigerian men, Bambino and Bawa, has been picked by French distributor, Optimale FR, known for its extension catalogue of queer films.
Plans for the distribution of All Colours in other European countries like Denmark and Poland are also in place, with ongoing discussions for potential inclusion in several other countries.

However, Apalowo says ” [there are] no [plans for the film’s] theatrical release in Nigeria but there’s possibility of it debuting on streaming platforms”.
“I’m excited about this, but even more excited about what’s to come”, he shared via a post on X.

All Colors of the World are Between Black and White, was earlier in February, acquired by Italy-based distribution company, Coccinelle Film Sales, ahead of its world premiere at the 73rd Berlinale Festival where it clinched the Teddy Award for best LGBTQ-themed feature film.
So far, the film, which is Apalowo’s debut feature, has toured close to 78 film festivals and won several awards, including the Special Jury Prize at the recently concluded 12th edition of the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF).
