Far from Home is Nigeria’s first Young Adult Netflix Series.

Netflix’s Young Adult series, Far From Home, premiered yesterday in Lagos, Nigeria with the stars of the series such as Temi Ojo, Genoveva Umeh, Mike Afolarin, Elma Mbadiwe, and Gbubemi Ejeye, gracing the red carpet. 

The Inkblot-produced five-episode TV series which will be released globally on Netflix on the 16th of December centres around Ishaya, the protagonist, an A-levels student at Wilmer Academy whose dreams are met with startling roadblocks.

Speaking on the project, series writer and director, Dami Elebe, noted that, “We wanted to create a young adult drama series that captures issues that young people face.”

Far from Home is Nigeria’s first Young Adult Netflix Series.

  • Maybe I am thinking too much but from the trailer this story already seems to me to be a Western story told with Nigerian faces and some Yoruba.
