Nollywood’s Actress, Lotachukwu Ugwu, Announces Debut Film, “Now That We Are Married”

The much awaited film will air exclusively on Africa Magic this Sunday, March 5th, 2023, at 9:30pm.

Nollywood’s star, Lotachukwu Ugwu, is set to release her first feature film Now That We Are Married come this Sunday, the 5th of March. The new title is an Africa Magic original story that will premiere exclusively on DSTV’s Africa Magic showcase, channel 151, on Sunday at 9:30 p.m.

Now That We Are Married is the story of a young couple, who, like many new weds, are cautiously navigating their first year of marriage. They soon realise that “happily ever after” takes a lot of love and sacrifice. Will they survive the first year of marriage? Or will they realise that love isn’t enough?

The film is written, directed and produced by Lotachukwu Ugwu (With Abisola Afisat Yusuf serving as co-producer), and it is the third production from the Lota-led Cowrie Films house.

The actress cum-director-cum producer has been very deliberate in creating relatable human stories which resonates with today’s culture. Her short film, 37 To Go, won the New York Movie Award for 2022, and received the African Diaspora International Film Festival Actor and Director Award. While her documentary film on mental health awareness (I’m Not Fine) has garnered a lot of positive feedback.

Cast ensemble for Now That We Are Married include Tope Olowoniyan, Eso Dike, Ibrahim Suleiman, Michael Ejoor, Mena Sodje, and ex Big Brother Naija housemate, Atteh Daniel (Sirdee_da).
