Nigerian artiste, Burna Boy, and British rapper and singer, J Hus, are set to headline the first edition of the Afro Nation Nigeria festival. From December 19-20, 2023, Burna Boy and J Hus will perform alongside Nigerian artistes, Seyi Vibez, and Flavour, and Ghanaian artiste, Black Sherif, at Tafewa Balewa Square, Lagos, Nigeria. In partnership with Coke Studio and Hennessy, the organisers seek to bring the Afro-music festival to the home of Afrobeats.
While speaking about the Afro Nation festival coming to Nigeria, the co-founder, Adesegun Adeosun Jnr, also known as Smade, said, “Nigeria is home to numerous international superstars who have propelled Afrobeats into a globally cherished genre. As someone who grew up in Lagos and later spent years promoting African music in London and beyond, this is a full-circle moment for me. Bringing the Afro Nation show back home to Lagos is a dream come true. We can’t wait to witness the grandest celebration of African music the world has ever seen!”
The Afro Nation festival is an annual three-day music festival. Founded in 2013 by Obi Asika and Adesegun Adeosun Jnr, the platform has continued to bring good music to music lovers worldwide. On June 9, 2023, the organisers announced the inauguration of Afro Nation Nigeria.
