Veteran actress, Bukky Wright, renowned for her roles in Nollywood’s classics such as Chico Ejiro’s crime drama Outlast (2001), Kodun Kopo Kope (KKK) (2002), Abeni (2006), amongst others, is set to make a comeback to the big screen in Rixel Studio‘s upcoming project, Red Circle.

The exciting news was announced by AMVCA9 Best Documentary Winner and founder of Rixel Studios, Nora Awolowo, who unveiled the cast for the highly-anticipated blockbuster in an electrifying video release that treats fans and Nollywood enthusiasts to an exclusive glimpse into the talents behind the highly-anticipated film.

Sharing more about the project, Awolowo stated in a post on X, “You asked for Bukky Wright, my job was to make it happen! … several months of fleshing it with the best company of people… we are now rolling on Red Circle”.

Red Circle is a feature-length film directed by AMVCA nominee, Akay Mason based on a screenplay by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed who also co-produces with Awolowo.

Alongside the legendary Bukky Wright, whose last appearance on screen was in the 2020 Nigerian-American rom-com, Special Jollof,  Red Circle also features industry favourites such as Timini Egbuson, Tobi Bakre, Lateef Adedimeji, Chief Femi Branch, Folu Storms, Omowumi Dada, and Debo Adedayo (Mr Macaroni). Other cast members include Ibrahim Suleiman, Mike Afolarin, Ruggedy Baba, Lizzy Jay, Detola Jones, Williams Benson, Taye Arimoro, Inem King, Shamz Garba, and Patrick Diabuah.

While the film’s plot is yet to be revealed, the intense suspense showcased in the cast reveal video hints at an action thriller, and offers a tantalising glimpse into the “Red Circle” world, setting the stage for what promises to be a groundbreaking Nollywood event.

Further details about the film’s release date will be announced in the coming days.
