Biodun Stephen’s Sista, one of the most anticipated film releases of 2023, has gotten a release date on one of the major streaming platforms, Amazon Prime Video. The film, initially set to be released in cinemas in August 2022, was scooped up by the streaming service and is set to be released on the 23rd of June, 2023.
Written and directed by Stephen, the movie follows a single mother’s sacrifice to protect her children from her past when their father comes back into their lives and attempts to steal their children’s attention to himself. It’s a story of love, betrayal, and sacrifice.
Sharing her inspiration for the movie, the writer and director told Saturday Beats, “Sista was a project that was inspired by me being a mother. I also thought about my mother, who raised me single-handedly. The film reminds us of the sacrifices our parents have made for us and that we should appreciate them.“
