Without further ado, let’s explore the musical gems awaiting us this week:

Smooth Afrobeats: The heart of this week’s playlist is a selection of smooth Afrobeats. April Maey’s dreamy Moonchild EP gives us “Kalm”, “Julia”, and “No Air”, and Mordecaii enlists interesting talent for “Far Away”. 3rty teams up with WeTalkSound for “Dey Play”, up-and-comer Myron releases his Love or Lust EP from which we draw on “Werey”, “Truth” and “Manya”, DJ 808’s star-studded 808 Rhapsody gives us “Senorita” with Blaqbonez, “Closer” with Aloraa, and “Konsentraiit” with Minz and Toye.

Soulful Offerings: Some artistes prefer to revel in the soulful side of things. Kenyan singer Otile Brown bares his heart on “Hafanani”. Mellissa’s emotional state is investigated on “Happy”, Gyakie revels in holiday blues on “December”, Fitzy West provides emotional support on “Confide”, Nezsa’s “Nervous Juice” is an introspective exploration, and Anais Cardot flexes her vocal chops on “Only Heaven”.

South African Gems: The South of Africa gives us a number of gems to round off the playlist. MaWhoo releases her The Sound Of Music project that contribute “Ukwamukela”, “Qinisela”, and “Moya Wasendulo”, Nomfundo Moh gives us “Umusa”, Josiah De Disciple sets the groove with “Kuzoba Ncono”, and Shaun Stylist gives us the energetic “Manje Monday”.
