The organisers of Poetry Africa, an international poetry festival, have announced the timeline for its 27th edition. The festival will take place in South Africa, and will be held from October 5-17, 2023. The event will feature poetry readings, outreach to schools and communities, book launches, workshops, music, spoken word, and many others.

First held in 1996, Poetry Africa is an initiative of the Centre for Creative Arts at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa. Since its inception, many poets from Africa and other parts of the world have participated in the festival, including Werewere Liking, Chris Abani, Chirikure Chirikure, Didier Awadi, Gabeba Baderoon, Dennis Brutus, and others.
The order of events will be announced on September 16, 2023.
