“Crystal Countless Misfortune” has won several awards including the Best International Film award at the Kuumba Film Festival.

The Ugandan film, Crystal Countless Misfortune, is set to premiere at the Century Cinemax Uganda, Acacia Mall on April 28th. The film, which has just been selected for screening by the Sacramento Pan African International Film Festival, is the first feature film produced by Amaka Film Productions, and is helmed by the acclaimed Kampala based-filmmaker and juror, Leonard Amanya.
The riveting 94-minute narrative feature follows the story of a teenage girl who faces abuse at her new school after the death of her parents. Her courage and resilience transform her into an inspiration for others, despite the challenges she faces.

The film written by Samuel Saviour Kizito features a homegrown cast including Kabuve Cleo, Asha Kyomuhangi, Raymond Rushabiro, Edison Abitegeka, Katooka Susan, among others who bring their exceptional performances to the screen, showcasing their incredible talent behind and in front of the camera.
Crystal Countless Misfortune has already garnered critical acclaim and won multiple awards, including Best International Film in New York, USA at the Kuumba Film Festival, eight nominations and two wins at the Universal Movie Awards 2022 in Lagos, Nigeria, and many others.
