Zambian director, Kenny Roc Mumba’s film, Can You See Us?, will begin streaming on Netflix from August 27, 2023. The film, which was shot in Zambia, is the first film from the country on Netflix. Originally shot in 2021, Can You See Us? tells the story of a young boy living with albinism. The film highlights his challenges, and how love and music helped him overcome these challenges.

Directed byMumba and written by Lawrence R.J. Thompson, Can You See Us? stars Thabo Kaamba, Kohndwani Elliot Zulu, Robert Nyirenda (Big Rob), George Sikazwe, Ruthe Jule, and Francisca M. Muchangwe.
While speaking about the film with What Kept Me Up, the film’s producer, Yasmin Dodia-Mumba, said, “As a producer, it means a lot to have a feature film on Netflix, especially since it is the first feature film out of Zambia to be on the platform. My hope is that this will open doors for other Zambian filmmakers & African filmmakers to aim for more than has been achieved thus far.”
