The organisers of the Ghana Music Awards (GMA) have put out a call for submissions ahead of the 25th edition of the awards ceremony. Artistes who released music between Jan 1st – Dec 31st, 2023, are eligible to submit entries for the awards. Entries will close on February 29, 2024. The awards ceremony will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre, Ghana.
The 2024 GMAs will present awards in the Best Gospel Song of the Year, Best Male Vocal Performance, Best Female Vocal Performance, Best Hiplife Song, Unsung Artiste of the Year, Best Hip Hop Song, Collaboration of the Year, International Collaboration of the Year, Best Afropop Song, Producer of the Year, Best Afrobeats Song, Best Reggae/Dancehall Song, Best Music Video, Best African Artiste, Best Highlife Song, Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste, Songwriter of the Year, Best Highlife Artiste, Best Gospel Artiste, Best Hiplife/Hip Hop Artiste, Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste, Best Rap Performance, Record of the Year, Audio Engineer of the Year, Best New Artiste, Album of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Artiste of the Year, Vodafone Green Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award categories.
Last year, Ghanaian superstar, Black Sherif, emerged as the night’s biggest winner, with Asake and Mayorkun being the only Nigerian winners at the award night.
The Ghana Music Awards celebrates excellent musical performances in the country and across the continent. Now in its 25th edition, the award show aims to recognise diverse genres like Afropop, Highlife, Hip-hop, Afrobeats, Reggae/Dancehall, and Traditional music. The award ceremony will be produced by Charterhouse Productions Limited and sponsored by Telecoms company, Vodafone.
