Nigerian ancient martial arts platform, Dambe Warriors League (DWL), has proudly announced a strategic partnership with telecommunication giant, MTN, for its second season launch, which began December 24th, 2023, in Lagos. This alliance sets the stage for DWL to elevate its reach, providing fans with unparalleled engagement.
Co-founders, Hugh Guill and Kingsley Pungong expressed their excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with MTN, as they are the unquestioned leader in their industry. Together, we believe that we will propel the sport of Dambe into the future by bringing the sport to a larger audience and offering fans an unparalleled experience at an affordable price. Our mission is to unite Africa through its warriors, honour, and traditions. We believe we have been able to accomplish this objective to date and are very excited for Season 2 and beyond.”
DWL, having achieved an impressive debut season engagement from September through November 2023, now aims to tap into MTN Nigeria’s vast subscriber base. This partnership is set to make Dambe accessible to a broader and more diverse audience than ever before.
During its first season, DWL packed arenas in Abuja, Lagos, and Kano every two weeks. Now, in its second season, the league plans to expand its activities into Kaduna and Niger, promising a more widespread impact.
To cater to fans at all levels of engagement, DWL and MTN have crafted a three-tiered pricing package. This includes options for a weekly subscription, monthly subscription, and a Dambe Fight livestream day pass, ensuring affordability and inclusivity.
Fans, stakeholders, and the local communities are encouraged to follow DWL’s Season 2 activities via the official Dembe Warriors app available on the Apple and Android app stores or through the Dambe Warriors Instagram account.
