Edebiri and Randolph won awards in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category and Best Supporting Actress category, respectively.

Black American actresses Ayo Edebiri and Da’vine Joy Randolph have been announced as some of the winners at the 30th edition of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

Edebiri bagged an award for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category for her role in The Bear, while Randolph clinched a win in the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in The Holdovers.

While accepting their awards both actresses thanked their fellow cast members and film directors. They also acknowledged the opportunity their profession as actors has given them to explore several themes and live other people’s lives.
Other winners at the SAG Awards include Cillian Murphy, Christopher Nolan, Robert Downey Jr. Lily Gladstone, Succession, Ali Wong, Steven Yeun, Pedro Pascal, and many others. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Christopher Storer’s The Bear were also awarded.
The Screen Actors Guild Awards is an award ceremony dedicated to honouring excellent film and television performances from the year in review. This year, the award ceremony made history as the first-ever live stream on Netflix. British-Sierra Leonean actor, Idris Alba hosted the award show.
