Nigerian Idol Season 9 will begin streaming on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family on April 21, 2024, and will end on July 14, 2024.

MultiChoice Nigeria has announced the return of the popular music competition, Nigerian Idols. Nigerian Idol Season 9, with its theme “Let Your Dreams Take Flight”, will begin streaming on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family on April 21, 2024, and will end on July 14, 2024.
This year’s panel of jury includes Nigerian artistes, Omawumi, Ric Hassani, and 9ice, with popular show host IK Osakioduwa, making a return as the show’s host. While speaking about her role as a judge, Omawumi, who was the first runner-up of West Africa Idols debut, highlighted the combination of hard work and expertise as the winning formula. Hassani described himself as the technical judge who will “tell it as it is”, while 9ice expressed his excitement to explain the connection between music and spirituality to the new talents on the show.

Dr Busola Tejumola, Executive Head Content, and Channels: West Africa, MultiChoice, also shared her thoughts on the upcoming season, “Nigerian Idol has continuously set the standard for music talent shows in Africa, and Season 9 promises to be no exception. With Omawunmi, Ric Hassani, and 9ice on board, viewers can expect unparalleled talent, excitement, and entertainment. We are proud to showcase the immense musical prowess that Nigeria has to offer and look forward to another unforgettable season”.
The show will be available on DStv Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Confam, and Yanga packages, and GOtv Supa+, Supa, Max, and Jolli packages. Viewers can also watch Nigerian Idol Season 9 via the DStv & GOtv Stream apps. The competition will premiere on Sunday, 21st April 2024 with a compilation of participants’ auditions with the pre-recorded weekly shows and the live shows will start on Sunday, 26th May 2024.
