27 years after its original release, legendary filmmaker of the 1996 Nollywood blockbuster, Domitilla, Zeb Ejiro is retelling the original story in a new title Domitilla: The Reboot.
Equipped with suspense and drama, the movie is set for release this April in conjunction with FilmOne Production, and Kayode Kasum’s FilmTrybe.
Domitilla: The Reboot revolves around four main female characters—Ekwutosi, Fisayo, Promise, and Madam Vee— the choices they make, and the domino effects of their choices as they navigate their way through the dangerous world of sex workers as shown in the teaser video.
Ejiro attributed the movie remake to trans-generational societal challenges that transcends the ’90s when the original story was first told. “And so, in recognition of its relevance in these times, we have decided to make a reboot to the story, factoring recent socio-cultural advancements,” he stated.
The movie will see veteran director and filmmaker, Zeb Ejiro, make a nostalgic comeback as director of another Nollywood classic.
Cast ensemble for the film includes Teniola Aladese, Uzoamaka Doris Aniunoh, Elvina Ibru, Chiwetalu Agu, Deyemi Okanlawon, Stan Nze, Ejiro Onojaife, and Onyinye Odokoro.
