Abubakar Adam Ibrahim’s second novel, When We Were Fireflies, is scheduled to be published in 2023 by Masobe Books in Nigeria, and Residenz Verlag in Austria.
The novel is described as “a literary portrait about the intersection of love, loss and memory.”
The story revolves around artist, Yarima Lalo, whose first encounter of a moving train leads to stunning revelations.
Ibrahim’s debut novel, Season of Crimson Blossoms won the prestigious Nigeria Prize for Literature in 2016. He is also the author of two short story collections.
