Tyla clinched the Best New Artiste and Best International Act, while Tems won the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspiration Award, respectively.

African artistes, Tyla and Tems, have been announced as winners at the 2024 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards. Tyla won in the categories of ‘Best New Artiste’ and ‘Best International Act’. Tems, on the other hand, received the ‘Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspiration Award’ for her song “Me & U” . Other winners include Usher, Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce, Killer Mike, Lil Durk, Kendrick Lamar, and many others.

The award show, which recognises the accomplishments of musicians, actors, athletes, and outstanding individuals in various spheres of the entertainment sector worldwide, was hosted by Taraji P. Henson.
The award show treated audiences to performances from GloRilla, Ice Spice, Latto, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Tanner Adell, Tyla, Victoria Monét, YG Marley, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, Shaboozey, Chlöe, Coco Jones, Keke Palmer, Marsha Ambrosius, Megan Thee Stallion, and Summer Walker.
The BET Awards is an American award show established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television, to celebrate black entertainers and other minorities in music, film, sports, and philanthropy. The awards, which are presented annually, are broadcast live on BET. The annual presentation ceremony also features performances from different acts and memorable red-carpet moments.
