His work included securing key partnerships with global industry giants like Vydia, YouTube Music, Kobalt Music, and Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment. He was also instrumental in launching emPawa Africa’s flagship initiatives—the emPawa 100 and emPawa 30 campaigns—pioneering artiste development programs that launched the careers of 130 emerging African artistes.

“Ikenna has served emPawa with dedication over the past eight years, building some of the biggest new superstars in the industry”, said Mr Eazi. “We look forward to building on the strong foundation he has established”.

Following his departure, Ikenna Nwagboso, who resides in Toronto, will shift his focus to developing artistes through his newly-formed Image Ent./Exodus Music Group. Canadian artiste, Chrissy Spratt, and British songwriter, Geo, have already signed with the company, which is also consulting on Rwandan artiste, Bruce Melodie’s upcoming debut album with S-Curve Records.

Reflecting on his decision, Nwagboso shared, “I will continue to offer my advice to Eazi and the executive management team at emPawa, but it’s time to chart a new path. I am humbled and honored to have had the privilege to work with the artistes and teams I’ve been fortunate to lead. It’s all been a gift”.

Founded by Mr Eazi in 2018, emPawa Africa is a global entertainment company that invests in African artistes, supporting sustainable careers and international recognition. Known for its innovative talent incubation programs, emPawa has established itself as a key player in promoting African music on the global stage.
